This term we have been looking at the Second World War.  In Art, we have made our own posters based on propaganda posters like these:

We have also made our own model Andersen shelters, that people used to shelter in when the bombers came over.

In Literacy, we have been looking at stories set in the second world war; stories of evacuees, stories about German children, and stories of Dunkirk.  We have also written our own story set in the second world war.  Here are two of the story openings...

The Bomb

It was Wednesday the third of September 1939 my great grandad and grandma were gathered around the wireless “I hope my brother is ok”   whispered my greatgrandad under his breath “ he’s fighting in the war”  he explained.

On the 5 of October 1940 our home was bombed. We heard a big bang I saw my bear go flying out of the windows when they exploded and then they STOPPED then they came back on.
